The 74HC251N is an 8 bit multiplexer with 8 binary inputs (I0 to I7), 3 selectable inputs (S0 to S2) and an output (OE)
The selectable inputs are capable of routing 1 of the 8 binary outputs to 1 of the complementary outputs (Y and Y)
A high (OE) causes the outputs to assume a high impedance OFF state. The inputs have
over clamp diodes that allow you to use current limiting resistors so you can connect the interface inputs to voltages
can lead and thus limit the VCC.
